Party Girls Don’t Get Hurt
1,2,3 1,2,3 drink. Not sure who this is but I love her. Keep my glass full until morning light…
New Nudes
I started the year off by painting two neutral nudes. I think they’re done? I’m leaving them for now anyway… Elation and Statuesque.
A Song For My Sugar Spun Sister… August 2019
‘Bored’ 30cm x 30cm, acrylic on canvas
Not sure what could have inspired me to paint these two?
Amy Meets Frida – part two
‘You Know I’m No Good’ – July 2019, 30cm x 30cm acrylic on canvas
Meet you dowstairs in the bar and hurt,
Your rolled up sleeves in your skull t-shirt,
You say ‘What did you do with him today?’,
And sniffed me out like I was Tanqueray,
‘Cause you’re my fella my guy,
Hand me your Stella and fly,
By the time I’m out the door,
You tear men down like Roger Moore,
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I’m no good,
Upstairs in bed with my ex boy,
He’s in a place but I can’t get joy,
Thinking on you in the final throes,
This is when my buzzer goes,
Run out to meet you, chips and pitta,
You say ‘when we married’,
’cause you’re not bitter,
‘There’ll be none of him no more’,
I cried for you on the kitchen floor,
Who doesn’t love a good Amy lyric or two?
Bleeding Florals – May 2019
‘Bleeding Florals 1&2’ 30cm x 30cm acrylics on canvas.
I loved painting these – very imperfect and the dripping paint caused palpitations but I really like the pinks and reds on the dark grey background.
Florals and Faces… Latest work…
‘Half Goddess’ 30cm x 30cm acrylic on canvas.
I’m a bit biased but I love her! (I’m inspired by anything written by the fabulous Nikita Gill, she’s bloody brilliant).
Another Frida… finally finished!
“At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can.”
